The Clydesdales The origin of Anheuser-Busch's most enduring symbol can be traced to a publicity stunt cooked up by Busch in 1933. To celebrate the end of Prohibition, the young executive arranged for a team of Clydesdales to haul the first case of beer brewed after the repeal down Pennsylvania Avenue, to be delivered to the White House of President Franklin D. Roosevelt
