Harrison campaign buttons. Two cloth-covered and one enamel coat studs that men could wear to show their allegiance. The bottom right pin would attach to a lapel. The bottom left stud was from the 1892 election, featuring Harrison and Reid.
As a fierce Protectionist, clothing played an important role in Harrison’s campaign. He advocated for American-made clothes over British imports. Both he and his wife proudly wore American clothing to the 1889 inauguration.
